Program Officer, VAW Prevention Department, GBV Prevention Network
Raising Voices seeks a committed and dynamic individual to support the GBV Prevention Network, a project of the VAW Prevention Department. This is a full time position based in Kampala, Uganda.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the coordination and functioning of the GBV Prevention Network
- Maintaining relationships and active communication with all network members
- Providing programmatic and administrative support to Thematic Working Groups
- Development of communications campaigns for regional 16 Days of Activism
- Research and writing of tri-annual newsletter for the network
- Research and writing of Get Moving! the Network’s movement building initiative
- Creation of marketing, educational and informational materials about the Network
- Facilitation of interactive training workshops and seminars on violence against women
- Representing the GBV Prevention Network and Raising Voices at various national and regional events
Experience and Qualities
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Masters a plus
- At least 2 years working in NGOs
- Strong women’s human rights perspective, demonstrated commitment to social justice
- Integrity, commitment and passion for work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications (word, excel, explorer, outlook, power point)
- Graphic design skills (Photoshop, InDesign) a plus
Salary
Competitive salary based on pay scale approved by Raising Voices Board of Directors.
