Consultant, VAW Prevention Technical Assistance (SASA!)
Raising Voices seeks a skilled professional with training and community mobilization/organizing experience to provide technical assistance to six regional partners implementing the SASA! approach for preventing violence against women and HIV.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality onsite technical support to regional and Uganda-based partners using the SASA! methodology.
- Facilitate visits from national and regional SASA! partners at the Raising Voices/CEDOVIP Learning Center.
- Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes of SASA! implementation by all partners.
- Plan and facilitate a week-long course to partners interested in the SASA! methodology
- Create and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with all Raising Voices staff, staff of partner organizations including CBOs, NGOs, INGOs, etc
- Compile reports from national and regional SASA! partners.
Experience and Qualities
- At least 5 years experience of VAW prevention programming / community mobilization, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Knowledge and experience of Raising Voices’ community mobilization methodologies/SASA!
- Ability to work constructively with partners, providing technical support that is positive and maintains high standards of quality programming and professionalism.
- Ability to create dynamic and engaging, learner-centered training experiences.
- Ability to problem solve productively and professionally.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently while being part of a team.
- Self-motivated and committed to Raising Voices and violence prevention.
- Ability to travel
Consultant will work from/be based in Raising Voices offices in Kampala with substantial time (65%) for travel to regional partners. This consultancy is for 30 working days beginning in July 2010 (start date and timing is negotiable).
Salary
Commensurate with experience.
